Situated in the southern part of Dalmatia, approximately 60km from Split, picturesque Makarska is the headquarters of the “Makarska Riviera”, which stretches along the base of the steep Biokovo Mountain Range. Makarska owes its popularity to its beautiful, 1,5km long beach, which is composed of small pebbles. Its palm-tree lined promenade along the sea-side is also popular among the tourists.
